Professional Background
Julie Jansen has more than 25 years of experience in career consulting, executive coaching, speaking, training, and resume and LinkedIn writing. Through her work with thousands of professionals ranging from early-career employees to senior executives across industries including healthcare, finance, technology, media, pharma and professional services, Julie has developed deep insight into hiring practices and compensation structures. She also understands the realistic employment opportunities in today’s labor market.
Julie works with senior executives, managers, and professionals to help them advance their careers, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and navigate complex workplace and career transitions. Her work spans individual coaching, leadership development, career strategy, and professional branding through resumes and LinkedIn profiles.
In 2019, Julie expanded her practice to include vocational expert services specializing in employability and earning-capacity evaluations for legal matters including divorce, child support and maintenance modifications, wrongful termination and discrimination claims, and financial fraud cases across the United States. Drawing on her decades of experience analyzing careers, compensation, and labor market trends, she provides independent vocational assessments and expert opinions regarding an individual’s ability to work, vocational options, and potential earning capacity.
Julie also volunteers with Cancer and Careers, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping people diagnosed with cancer navigate the workplace. In this role, she delivers presentations and webinars, reviews resumes, and provides career coaching to individuals managing cancer diagnoses, while continuing or returning to their professional lives.
Julie works with attorneys, mediators, and courts to provide clear, well-documented analyses that assist in settlement negotiations and litigation. Her vocational evaluations examine education, work history, transferable skills, labor market conditions, and compensation data to determine realistic employment opportunities and earning potential. Her reports frequently address issues such as employability after time out of the workforce, long-term career interruptions, reasonable job search expectations, and the availability of jobs within a specific geographic labor market. She also provides expert testimony when required.
Julie began her career in television and radio broadcasting before moving into sales leadership roles with training, outplacement, and consulting firms. In 2000, she founded her own coaching, speaking, and consulting practice.
